2016 flew by with many projects and improvements completed at The Retreat Country Club!

The golf course renovation was a huge success, thanks to the hard work of our superintendents and golf course maintenance staff.

The Clubhouse underwent a face-lift with new wood floors and updates to the bar area, as well as the re-staining of the concrete walk-ways.

Road repairs were started in 2016 and will continue through this year.

New roofs are being installed and repairs to the buildings are almost complete. Designated undeveloped land continues to be cleared of storm-damaged trees throughout the property and the POA is working with property owners to complete the final few lots that need to be cleaned.

I will be meeting with all of The Retreat Country Club committees to plan the upcoming year’s events. If you have ideas for new services and or events, please contact me or the chairperson of the house & community services committee, Carrie Williams. The committee has put together a wide variety of events for members and property owners to enjoy this year. The community services committee continues to provide wonderful services for the community, including welcome baskets, the children’s library, and food drives. If you are interested in serving on a committee, please contact the chairperson or me for more information.

The MGA and The Retreat Golf Tournament schedules have taken shape and are listed on the events calendar. If you have new tournament formats you would enjoy playing this upcoming season, please let us know. We are always interested in new, fun formats that appeal to everyone.

I hope you will all actively participate in these fun events, and enjoy the amenities The Retreat has to offer. I look forward to seeing you all on the course and at the clubhouse.
